Introduction:

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development movement in India that aims to instill discipline, leadership, and a spirit of patriotism among students. At Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT), the NCC unit plays a vital role in shaping students into responsible citizens and future leaders. It provides a platform for students to experience military training, engage in social service, and participate in national-level events.

The NCC unit at BIT is affiliated with the Karnataka and Goa Directorate and functions actively under the 1 KAR BN NCC. It is open to both boys and girls and encourages student participation across all branches. The cadets undergo regular training in drill, weapon handling, map reading, and physical fitness. In addition to weekly parades and camps, Bangalore Institute of Technology NCC cadets participate in various activities such as cleanliness drives, blood donation camps, and awareness programs on environmental conservation and disaster management.

BIT students are also encouraged to attend prestigious camps like Republic Day Camp (RDC), Thal Sainik Camp (TSC), and Combined Annual Training Camps (CATC), which help them build confidence and national pride. Several cadets from the college have earned laurels by representing Karnataka at national events.
